What is a window regulator?

When we say "window regulator" what are we talking about? The window regulator is a term that encompasses all of the moving parts that move your window. Within the regulator you have....

 1. The Motor - Window regulators come equipped with a motor. The motor is the mechanical component that produces movement of your window from the electrical impulse it receives from your car's battery. Today's window motors can be simple, old school, up and down movement makers or complex with microchips and sensors etc. We are equipped to give you expert advice on all types of window motors. 

2. The Track and the Guide - The track is just what it sounds like. Similar to a train track or the ones in the drawers of your kitchen or bedroom. This serves to contain the path of movement of your window. The guide is fastened to the bottom of your window and serves as the wheels to move the window up and down the track.

3. The Cables - The cable runs through your motor of the regulator and connects to the guide to facilitate the movement of your window with the kinetic energy generated by the motor.
